Political cartoon of the day…
Reassuring Truths of an Inconvenient Lie - http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/images/stories/press_releases/monckton-response-to-gore-errors.pdf
however, it doesn’t mean we should not make grand efforts to take care of that which God has given us.
Haters gonna hate. There was never any shortage of those who were averse to actually studying the science behind the issues threatening the earth and taking them seriously. It was easy to politicize when Al Gore became a spokesman of sorts on the issues. It’s not a political issue. Nothing about environmental protection is political, no matter who is interested in turning it into a political issue. It doesn’t benefit any party to arbitrarily make false claims regarding what’s going on.
The woes endangering our planet are real no one who’s had any bit of education in the matter is questioning that.
But we will never run out of those who still won’t bat an eyelash. I sat my own mother down and presented her with what I had been studying. I showed her some figures of what our conservation as a household would mean not only for the environment, but also for her pocket book. She still isn’t too concerned.
Not to mention, Christopher Monckton is in no way a qualified authority on the matter… at all. Some of the ‘errors’ listed have been qualified and validated by highly credible sources, much more qualified than a decrier and skeptic who’s claimed himself to be a scholar on scientific matters.
As I agree it isn’t shouldn’t be a political issue, Albert (who I’m sure is concerned for mother earth) played the game for money. Looking at his net worth before & after his national tours, “documentaries,” & speaking engagements makes one question his sincerity.
Another point is that Gore’s Mansion consumes more electricity in one month than the basic US household consumes in one year. Very interesting considering in his documentary he called on Americans to consume less energy by reducing use of electricity at home. Not to mention his natural gas consumption is through the roof as well. The former VP also was galavanting about the US on his private jet while promoting his cause, and long after that. One can only imagine what one must do to offset that carbon footprint.
Final point,
Asia (mostly due to China) alone gives off more than double CO2 emissions than North and South America combined. The reversal to offset those numbers are quite drastic indeed. Perhaps there would be more of a world wide concern outside of Europe and the US if it were such an urgent issue.
Again,
I do personally believe that we can and should do a better job at preserving the planet. Fun Fact: Do you know what one of the biggest items of litter is in the world. Cigarettes. I did a paper in college a few years back on the matter. And 1 in 4 wild fires are caused by cigarettes as well.
hahah, and i just finished my mills essay about truth.
